Campus Hub

Campus Hub is Malta’s first student village offering accommodation on campus covering 65,000 sqm of accommodation, lecture halls, medical facilities, retail and commercial space for university students in Malta.

It features 6 blocks of student village, 800 beds in different types of accommodation, approximately 500 new car spaces across 4 levels of underground car park, a number of outlets and facilities situated around a plaza, with a tree lined boulevard linking the University of Malta to the plaza. The complex will also house the University’s language school. The wellbeing facilities at the complex will cover an area of around 1400 sqm and will include a lap pool, gym, study rooms and a multi faith hall. Offering students an on-campus experience will add significant value to the already highly ranked University 

Campus Hub has teamed up with some amazing brands with eateries such as The Cake Box, Café Cuba, Amami, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Ottoman by Posh Turkish, as well as Welbee’s Express. Students will also be able to make use of the stationery on campus as Papier will be also opening along with Intercomp for all technology related goods.  Portughes will be offering laundry services and plans for a car wash are in the pipeline too.   Gym facilities will also be available as Warehouse fitness studio will be setting up on campus too and the project will also be featuring the latest pharmacy by Remedies.

The project, which forms part of the Vassallo Group portfolio is the first purposely built student accommodation on the island and the group’s largest single investment to date.   Offering students an on-campus experience will add significant value to the already highly ranked University and attract more international students while enhancing the overall learning experience of all University students in Malta.

Mediterranean College of Sport

Within the MCS complex, there are a range of offerings. Including Pavilion, Pitch, Athletics Track, Dance Studio, Gymnastics Hall, Swimming Pool, Fitness Center and Padel Courts.  A 100-bed sport hotel provides comfortable accommodations for teams utilising the top-notch training facilities for their training camps. Additionally, there will be a  two-level underground parking facility that can accommodate up to 200 cars, ensuring convenient access for all. To satisfy culinary needs, an eatery is available.

Furthermore, the complex includes a childcare centre. These various facilities and amenities within the MCS complex contribute to a supportive and enriching environment, enhancing the overall experience of those who study, work, and visit our esteemed institution.

Valletta City Gate Project

Part of the Valletta City gate project involved the conversion of the former Royal Opera House ruins into an open air theatre. The job called for the clearing out of the debris which accumulated throughout the years, rebuilding and restoration of the remaining original stonework, construction of new foundations, structural steel frame, timber decking and 938 outdoor seats. The theatre can be set up with the possibility of 6 different configurations depending on the types of performances. The materials chosen for the project also came from various parts of the world. The species lpe was chosen as the durable wooden flooring which was bought from Spain after being imported from  South America.

Quantum II

Quantum II is a commercial office block with underlying parking space & double height commercial shops. The building is situated in Ta’ Xbiex. Vassallo Builders have been entrusted with the demolishing of the existing building and the construction of the new building. This project is planned t0 be completed in 2017. More than 50 employees are working on this project.

Phoenicia Hotel

Vassallo Builders have been entrusted with the civil works and finish trades of one of Malta’s renowned hotels, The Phoenicia Hotel with a total investment of 13.5 million euros. Vassallo Builders will be in charge of the refurbishment of all the Hotel rooms and public areas, the building of a new outdoor pool and its facilities and the building of a new SPA and indoor pool. More than 120 employees are involved in this project.

LIDL Supermarket

Vassallo Builders have been entrusted once again with the construction of a new Lidl Supermarket, in Mosta. Vassallo Builders will be in charge of the demolition, excavation, civil and hard landscaping works. With a total investment of 1.5 million euros, the new supermarket is set to be completed by May 2016.

Malta North Mechanical and Biological Waste Treatment Plant

Since 2014, BEV Consortium has been entrusted with the construction of the Malta North Mechanical and biological waste treatment plant project at the Maghtab Environmental complex.The project was a joint venture between Vassallo Builders, Efacec and BTA International. The facility was officially inaugurated in February 2016. The facility will separate mixed household waste into recyclables and organic fractions which shall be used for Biogas and Compost production. The facility will also cater for the mechanical processing of bulky waste and biological processing of Cattle and Poultry Manure. The total investment of this project was that of €50 million.

Foster Clarks Products Factory

Industrial sites are also included in Vassallo Builders’ extensive portfolio. The Foster Clarks Products factory located at the San Gwann Industrial Estate, was built using a combination of a structural steel frame, load-bearing masonry walls and pre-cast concrete slabs. With a strong tradition and a history dating back to 1889, Foster Clark is a modern, dynamic and forward-looking company dedicated to developing and supplying quality beverage preparations and food products in the dessert, baking products, and sauces and dressings sectors. The Foster Clark brand is a well-established household name amongst a number of consumers around the world.

Casa Apap Bologna is a beautiful town house situated in the heart of Mosta which has been converted into a state-of-the-art home which hosts and offers support services to persons with disabilities. It features 2 floors and a penthouse.  With a total investment of more than 2 million euros, the new home is currently managed by Hila.

Haileybury School campus

Haileybury School campus

Vassallo Builders was entrusted with structural alteration works and external works as part of the development of the Haileybury School campus in Mtarfa, located within the former Royal Naval Hospital complex. The project involved carrying out structural interventions to adapt the existing historic buildings to their new educational use, together with external works to support access, functionality, and integration of the campus within its surroundings. Given the heritage context of the site, the works required careful planning, controlled execution, and close coordination to ensure structural integrity and sensitivity to the existing fabric. This project reflects Vassallo Builders’ experience in delivering complex structural and external works within heritage and institutional settings, supporting the transformation of significant historic sites into modern educational facilities.
