Scaffolding Solutions

Since 1985, Scaffolding Solutions has been a trusted partner in construction, restoration, and building maintenance across Malta. We provide comprehensive scaffolding services including delivery, assembly, dismantling, and flexible lease or purchase options for new and used equipment.

Environmental Management

Vassallo Builders were among the first to undertake waste management projects in Malta following EU accession, focusing on the rehabilitation of the Magħtab landfill and the Sant Antnin Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) plant.

Magħtab & Qortin Landfills In collaboration with a German waste management company, Vassallo Builders designed and built a gas extraction and treatment system for disused landfills. Nearly 500 gas wells were installed along a 70km pipeline, conveying hazardous gas to a central thermal oxidiser.

Sant Antnin MBT Plant An Anaerobic Digestion Plant was built within the Sant Antnin MBT facility, capable of processing 40,000 tonnes of biological waste annually. By-products include biogas (powering two 1.7MW CHP engines), agricultural-grade compost, and recycled water. Surplus heat from the CHPs also heats the neighbouring Inspire Foundation’s swimming pool.

Malta North Waste Treatment Plant In 2014, the BEV Consortium — comprising Vassallo Builders, Efacec, and BTA International — was awarded the design and build of the Malta North Waste Treatment Plant at the Magħtab Environmental Complex. The facility uses mechanical and biological processes to recover recyclable materials, produce compost, and generate clean energy from Municipal Solid Waste, manure, and bulky waste. Two CHP units burn the biogas produced, injecting electricity into the national grid.

Civil Engineering

Vassallo Builders operates as a leading contractor in General Civil Engineering, delivering complex infrastructure projects across a broad range of sectors through Design, Build, Finance and Operate (DBFO) as well as traditional procurement models.

The company undertakes the planning, design development, construction, and, where applicable, financing and long-term operation of major infrastructure assets serving essential public, social, and economic functions. Its civil engineering activities span hospitals and healthcare facilities, prisons and secure facilities, hotels, factories and industrial plants, homes for the elderly and care facilities, residential complexes, power stations, airports, waste treatment plants, and sewage treatment plants.
